It fails so severely as a cooking game I don't even know what I am cooking 99% of the time because the only thing I am looking at is the bottom 2 inches of the screen for what buttons to mash.
Every order is processed one at a time, there is pelo rush except to get the highest rating on levels that require it and after the order is done you can infinitely sit there and wait to serve it with no punishment.

It's not a matter of polish or story. The story is certainly interesting but I am certainly not interested in reading a graphic novel with several hours of cooking related quick time events.

The narrative bits that pop up between or even during levels are also COOK SERVE FOREVER Gameplay a great motivator for the player to keep coming back to the game to explore more of its story. The game follows the journey of a young and passionate cook who decides to take a leap of faith in her life and move with her partner to another city to enter a major cooking competition and find a job at a restaurant run by a renowned chef, her role-model in the art of cooking. All characters and dialogues are also wonderfully voice-acted.
The goal was to maintain the more accessible relaxed vibes of the initial version while allowing players accustomed to the fast pace of previous titles to challenge themselves. As such, you can now prepare two items at once.

What’s nice in all this is that the player has the flexibility of choosing how difficult the gameplay should be, as some of the upgrades you can choose in-between shifts do not add any challenge factors although opting in for one of these will make you miss out on the XP you would otherwise get.
